In a photo, texture, mood, and contrast are the elements that capture our attention and lead our eyes to the subject. Texture is important to give the viewer a sense of soft or hard, smooth or jagged, sharp or dull, fundamentals that make the photo interesting. Mood brings a certain emotion to the image, whether one of happiness, sadness, anger, dreaminess, or something else. Mood is the combination of colour, light, focus, and point of view that can elevate the viewer’s feelings. Contrast creates an image that pops and attracts the eye.
