January presents us with a time of manifesting and creating. Spring is not far away, visible in early budders like lilacs and hazel trees.
I chose this image for January’s photo of the month because of the coldness present in the background and the gray hues, accurate to the ongoing winter. But I also chose it for the berries – they stand as a metaphor for holding the seeds to growth and life within themselves. As they wait for new beginnings in spring, the seeds inside them are cultivated and mature into possibilities of creation.
This reflects us; as we wait for spring, ideas and concepts are held within. We can choose to bring these to life when it is time to plant them, but for now, nurturing these thoughts is all that matters. Carry them with you and tend to them, and make them more solid as the months go on. I like to collage images or words that I want present in myself, and I find that releasing intention into a project can really help me grow.
The later months in winter are usually where we’re impatient with the cold, and hopeful for something new. If you can take the time to manifest ideas to release this spring, you just might find it blossoming readily as the months go on.
