Macro photography is all about being close to your subject. In some cases, this can mean literally touching the lens of your camera to the point of the focus, while in others it can simply be zooming in to an object to capture detail and quality.
My photography has been wandering around different styles and subjects this winter – from animals to falling snow to textures to random details. I’ve been taking macro shots of seemingly sporadic subjects, and I enjoy how magical and surprising every day objects appear when taken out of their normal context. Textures are increased while the surrounding environment is muffled, creating more focus on the image itself.
