It’s hard to believe it’s August already! As life blossoms into fruition all around – cherries, apples, black currants, Oregon grape, rosehips – summer lays hot and still over the land. Summers are usually a time of busyness, but when I take a moment to breathe in the sweetgrass-smelling air and be quiet and warmed in the sunshine, everything feels so peaceful and motionless. Spring brought an energy of frenzied production, but now as summer tapers to a close, rest and stillness are important aspects of life.

I love the diversity in your photography! The Alpine Meadows- such neat contrasts and use of focus. Love the web shot as well- the intricacies of the web is really interesting. My favorite is the shroomies! Pinewood/Pinelitter gingertail. This photo has beautiful colors and textures! Just gorgeous!
Thank you for voting! :)
I am leaning to Number 6 with its vibrant color coordination, just slightly surpassing #4. To me, #4 represents our cultural developed attention span. Our attention tends to be selective, blurring out other aspects that are in our view.

For October I vote for the Owl…what a great shot!
