Behind the Scenes

Posted on November 13, 2022January 30, 2025

I’ve often wondered what I look like when I’m photographing my miniscule subjects. I oftentimes am laying on the group, splayed out on the forest floor to get a good shot of that tiny mushroom. Sometimes a crouch is better, or a stoop, or even going on my tip-toes if that mushroom or moss or lichen happens to be on a tree.

During the last few times my aunt and I have gone out hiking or canoeing (like our Summit Creek hike or the sloughs of Creston), she’s taken photos of me while I’m fixated on my subjects. A few of these photos are also ones that my dad took during our hikes in Fernie.

It’s both entertaining and educational to see how I take my photos, and I thought I’d share these behind-the-scenes shots on my blog.

Thanks to both my dad and my aunt for getting these shots during our outings!
