The wild majesty of mountains continues to awe many. Tourists from all over the world visit Canada’s national parks to gaze at these formidable formations of rock and their even wilder inhabitants. Bears, mountain goats, corvids, wolves – these fauna represent the wildness of Canada in its most stark, resilient form.
When my grandpa and I did a road trip to Alberta and back in the late summer (see more of my photos from that trip in my blog posts Vote for September’s Photo of the Month and Photos of the Month: September 2022), we saw an appetizer of these animals. A black bear along the highway; murders of crows and conspiracies of ravens flying by the car; mountain goats grazing on rocky hillsides; flocks of geese landing in grassy fields.
I managed to get some photos from that trip, and wanted to share them for others to experience the rugged beauty of the Rocky Mountains.

I love that bird shot (four down) where it’s sitting on a tree branch, beautiful Hazel.
Thank you, Mom! <3
