After I moved to British Columbia, I was amazed at all the wild beauty to discover here. There’s so much to see, touch, admire, experience, and I wanted desperately to capture it.
When I acquired an iPad, I started to use it to take pictures of my surroundings. The quality of landscape and farther-away photos weren’t very good, but when I discovered that it was perfect for macro (up-close) shots, the gates opened to a new era of my photography.
Most of the photos from these years are of mushrooms, moss, and plants. The focus looked quite good on close objects, so I stayed mainly with macro shots. I began to experiment a bit with light, the rule of thirds, texture, and visual interest.

2020 - mid-2021
I was also given a small macro lens for my iPad, which I used a bit to get even closer to my subjects. However, it was tricky maneuvering the lens over the camera, and I didn’t use it much.
