Wandering: traveling aimlessly from place to place; itinerant.
Being a particularly indecisive person, I find wandering suits me perfectly. Adventuring new and unexplored places with no particular purpose is as satisfying as reading a very good book or listening to music much too loudly: intriguing, filling, and deeply delightful.
And wandering on a cloudy day – now that’s something all on its own. Not only do clouds provide the lighting I like best for photography – soft, cool, and muted – but there’s just something about an overcast day that I can’t ever get enough of. Being a natural-born pluviophile, I can’t help but fall in love with moody weather all over again when it graces the skies.
My latest wandering was spent following eagles, admiring graffiti, and chasing my dog down the grassy, muddy banks beside the slough I walked.

Is “listening to music much too loudly” possible? Music has a healing quality through the frequencies that are flowing through our bodies that has the influence to make our bodies dance! My experience suggests that the louder the music, the more intense the healing is. I have yet to hear of any rock musician losing their hearing, despite the amplification of their music. My theory is, if the frequency of sound is in the form of music, there are no adverse affects on hearing. It is loud, sharp, independent or constant noises that can damage the inner structure of the ears. Actually each photo has an appropriate tune that could be added to compliment it (e.g., Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries for the birds in flight).
Interesting thoughts! I do have reason to believe that you may be biased, however…
