I wouldn’t consider myself a birder or birdwatcher; but studying avians – attempting to identify a swamp sparrow from a house wren, classifying groups of fowl, birds of prey, songbirds, observing flight patterns and collecting feathers – has always been of interest to me.
I love the delicate tenacity and spunkiness of little birds like chickadees and wrens, and I’m also completely enthralled with the majesty and mystery of birds of prey like eagles and hawks.
