During a road trip in central BC recently, my mom and stepdad and I visited Barkerville, a historic town and heritage site. I’ve been to similar places before – Fort Steele, Fort Whoop-Up, etc. – but Barkerville is a unique place all its own. First off, it’s huge: there’s over sixty buildings to explore. And second, it has that authentic, timeless, old-fashioned vibe that creates the magical feeling one has stepped back in time.
I don’t typically take aesthetic photos, but being immersed in such a striking and artistically different place inspired me.
