This is just a short post featuring some photos I took last March of interesting oil patterns I found in a puddle. I’m not sure what the oil was from; water had gathered in a divot in our asphalt driveway, and one morning these strange sheens of finger-like abstractions had formed. I managed to get some photos of them before the puddle swirled away down the storm drain.
Also, a note: I’ve decided that instead of sticking to my posting-every-other-Thursday schedule, I’m going to write and publish pieces on a more sporadic basis; it will likely fall around once a month. I’d like to create more intentional posts like my essay Honouring the Bones, but these articles require significant time, thought, and effort. I need the breathing room to explore larger ideas and spin them into stories. Please stay tuned for what’s to come.

These images appear almost comical in shape. Shows how observant you’ve become to capture the beauty in nature. Thanks for sharing.
